Coldplay - A Message

Coldplay - A Message -

My song is love
Love to the loveless shown
And it goes on
You don't have to be alone

Your heavy heart
Is made of stone
And it's so hard to see you, clearly
You don't have to be on your own
You don't have to be on your own

And I'm not gonna take it back
And I'm not gonna say I don't mean that
You're the target that I'm aiming at
Can i get that message home?

My song is love
My song is love unknown,
But I'm on fire for you, clearly
You don't have to be alone
You don't have to be on your own

And I'm not gonna take it back
And I'm not gonna say I don't mean that
You're the target that I'm aiming at
And I'm nothing on my own
Got to get that message home

And I'm not gonna stand and wait
I'm not gonna leave it until it's much too late
On a platform, I'm gonna stand and say
That I'm nothing on my own
And I love you, please come home

My song is love, is love unknown?
And I've got to get that message home.

Acerca de A Message

A Message is a track from Coldplay's 4th album, X&Y. After lead singer Chris Martin let close friends hear a preview of the album before release, one commented saying that X&Y was "missing something". Martin wrote A Message in the middle of the night, describing it as "the only Coldplay song I've written without clothes on".

In 2005 in Q Magazine, Martin stated "A Message is my favourite song, it's the simplest. It arrived with 10 days of recording left so it was very exciting to do. It took a day and a half to record."

The lyrics of the song were inspired by the hymn 'My Song Is Love Unknown'.
